Microsoft Unveils MAI: A Strategic Leap Toward an Independent AI Ecosystem
Share

Microsoft has officially introduced MAI as the brand for its internal AI division and a new suite of proprietary AI models. Believed to stand for Microsoft AI, MAI marks a major step in Microsoft’s strategy to build strong, in-house AI capabilities rather than relying solely on its partnership with OpenAI.

Under the leadership of Mustafa Suleyman, MAI focuses on developing high-performance, cost-efficient AI models designed to support Microsoft’s product ecosystem at large.
